Angela Vitovec is a dancer, artist, and choreographer based in Berlin with roots in Canada and Peru. Her practice consists of movement-based research within shared spheres of vegetation. Vitovec’s work honors the subjective experience as part of the whole, yet stays loyal and dedicated to the encounter of the non-human realm. Plants and trees are at the core, and humans listen.
Following Vitovec’s working methodology of trituration, the “anti-identity” centers and distills the plant sources of the movement work. Connections found between and through plants, bodies, and space are continually discovered and reconfigured as typographic constellations. Breaking free from the constraints of a conventional fixed logo, in Vitovec’s plant worlds the language pulses, glows, oscillates, in constant flux.
